
The Northwest Seaport Alliance announced the winners of the 2025 North Star Awards at a customer reception at the Museum of Flight on September 24, 2025. In total, nine companies received awards in seven different categories, including two new awards recognizing the important partnerships that exist between our terminals and the gateway’s trucking community. 2025 Cargo Anchor Awards
The Northwest Seaport Alliance is honored to celebrate companies whose business activities in 2024 helped grow cargo volumes at the NWSA and drive economic activity for the region.
Abercrombie & Fitch - Importer of the Year
Abercrombie & Fitch has grown its import volume at NWSA nearly tenfold, embracing use of both transload and IPI rail in our gateway. They have also built a highly efficient peel-off model with SSA at Terminal 18. Their commitment to collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence has made the Seattle/Tacoma gateway a cornerstone of their national supply chain. Allied Potato - Exporter of the Year
As the largest shipper of fresh potatoes through The Northwest Seaport Alliance, Allied Potato plays a vital role in supporting agricultural exports—an essential driver of cargo volume and economic vitality for our gateway. Over the past year, Allied Potato grew their exports via the NWSA by 30% while expanding into new markets across Asia. Allied Potato continues to support local jobs, clean energy, and actively partners with the NWSA to strengthen our gateway’s reach. Congratulations to the Allied Potato Team!
Yang Ming Line - Ocean Carrier of the Year
This award goes to the Ocean Carrier with the largest year-over-year increase in container volume at the Northwest Seaport Alliance. Yang Ming Line's contributions exemplify the kind of partnership that powers our gateway’s success. 2025 Service Excellence Award - Supply Chain Partner of the Year
This award celebrates companies that deliver exceptional service and value for supply chains in our gateway.
Tri-Cities Intermodal LLC
Through private investment and strategic vision, Tri-Cities Intermodal has developed a scalable intermodal facility that directly supports the Northwest Seaport Alliance gateway. Their Inland Port Staging initiative has strengthened the connection between Eastern Washington and Puget Sound marine terminals — improving freight flow, reducing congestion, and delivering measurable results.
Agricultural exporters now benefit from more reliable access to empty containers, while importers enjoy greater delivery flexibility.
Tri-Cities Intermodal exemplifies service excellence, operational foresight, and regional partnership. Their contributions strengthen the supply chain and support the long-term vitality of the NWSA gateway. Congratulations to TCI on this well-deserved recognition!
2025 Environmental Stewardship Award
The Environmental Stewardship Award is presented annually to a company for innovative and adaptive measures that support the continued health of our region’s environment. Winners are selected based on leadership promoting environmental sustainability in an industrial setting or demonstrating overall commitment to the natural environment.
MSC
MSC was recognized for their efforts to reduce underwater noise negatively impacting the Orca population in the Puget Sound and protecting biodiversity in the gateway. MSC is a consistent leader in the Quiet Sound Voluntary Slowdown Program and has gone even further, exploring quieter vessel technologies, hosting global whale protection workshops, and conducting biodiversity assessments. Their efforts reflect a deep commitment to the marine environment and the future of our gateway. Congratulations to MSC!
2025 Partner Awards
We are pleased to introduce the Partner Awards this year, a meaningful addition to our awards made possible through collaboration with Washington Trucking Associations and our marine terminals.
The Terminal Partner of the Year Award, selected by Washington Trucking Associations, recognizes a marine terminal for operational efficiency, ease of use and high-level of customer service, contributing to a quality experience for truckers.
Husky Terminal was named the overall preferred terminal for its strong customer service, operational flexibility, and its ability to pair empty and import appointments. Added shifts like Hoot gates were also a factor. Congratulations Husky Terminal!

The Trucking Partner of the Year Award, selected by our marine terminals, recognizes a trucking company for consistent, reliable service and fostering a positive working environment for marine terminals in the gateway. There are three (3) Co-Winners for this inaugural award in 2025, listed alphabetically.
