Truckers can expect advance warning by the WSDOT during periods of congestion around the maritime terminals. WSDOT will message Northbound traffic using variable message boards posted on I-5 advising trucks to use an alternate exit and avoid backups on the Spokane Street Bridge.

WSDOT asks drivers to follow the sign to improve safety at the I-5 Northbound exit 163 to Spokane Street and ensure that emergency vehicles have access to the area at all times.
