Seattle area construction look ahead

The Seattle Department of Transportation's weekly transportation construction update highlights the projects and events that may impact travel through the Seattle area. View this week's update.

This week's highlights:

  • May 1 - 3 and 3 - 5: All lanes of the SB I-5 mainline will be closed at James St. and diverted to the CD.
  • May 4: Annual Opening Day of Boating Season parade will close the Montlake Bridge from approximately 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • May 6 - 9: 11 - 12, 13 - 16 & 18 - 19: NB I-5 will have 4 lanes closed from S. Boeing Access Road the West Seattle Bridge.
  • May 10 - 11: SR99 Tunnel will be closed northbound only, Friday 11 p.m. - Saturday 8 a.m.
  • May 12: The Color Run will close streets between Seattle Center and downtown Sunday morning.
  • May 17: Seattle Norwegian 17th of May Parade will close streets in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood Friday evening.
  • May 18 & 19: 50th annual University District Street Fair on University Way NE.
  • May 19: 37th annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge 8K Run & Walk.
  • May 31 - June 2, June 14 - 16, June 28 - 30: Aurora Bridge will have one lane open in each direction, Friday 9 p.m. - Mon 5 a.m.
