The Seattle Department of Transportation's weekly transportation construction update highlights the projects and events that may impact travel through the Seattle area. View this week's update.

This week's highlights:

• Dec. 23: Seattle Seahawks host the Kansas City Chiefs at CenturyLink Field, kick-off at 5:20 p.m.
• Dec. 30: Seattle Seahawks host the Arizona Cardinals at CenturyLink Field, kick-off at 1:25 p.m.
• Dec. 31: New Year's at the Needle.Annual New Year's Eve celebration at the Space Needle followed by a fireworks display at midnight.
• Jan. 3 - 4: SB I-5 will have two left lanes closed from S. Boeing Access Road to Interurban Ave S.
• Jan. 4: SB SR-99 off-ramp to S. Atlantic St. to permanently close.
• Jan. 4: NB SR-99 on-ramp from Royal Brougham Way to permanently close.
• Jan. 11: Permanent Viaduct Closure - Full SR-99 closure through downtown.
